Ingredients
1/2 c port wine .
2 tsps cracked black pepper .
16 oz beef tenderloin steaks, trimmed .
1/4 tsp salt .
1/2 c fat free low-sodium beef broth .
1 tbsp butter, chilled
Directions
Step #1 The beef should be cut into four 4 oz servings one inch thick.
Step #2 If you can't find a good port use a sweet red wine.
Step #3 cut the butter into small pieces.
Step #4 Heat a cast iron skillet over medium high heat.
Step #5 Rub pepper evenly over steaks.
Step #6 Sprinkle top the salt in the pan.
Step #7 Add steaks & cook 2 mins each side or until browned.
Step #8 Remove steaks & set aside.
Step #9 Stir in port & broth & scrape pan to remove browned bits.
Step #10 Reduce heat to medium & return steaks to pan then cook for 2 mins each side or until done as you desire.
Step #11 Remove steaks from pan.
Step #12 Add butter to pan.
Step #13 Stir with whisk until melted.
Step #14 Drizzle sauce over steaks.
Step #15 1 tbsp jus for each steak.
