Tibetan Style Seitan Burritos Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 tbsps fresh gingerroot, grated .
  • 4 c shredded cabbage .
  • 1 1/2 c seitan .
  • 6 flour tortillas .
  • 2 c thin sliced onions .
  • 2 c peeled grated carrots .
  • 2 tbsps vegetable oil .
  • 2 tsps asian chili paste, to taste .
  • 1 tsp dark sesame oil .
  • 2 tbsps minced garlic .
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions
  • Step #1 Cut the Seitan into strips 1 by 1/2 inch.
  • Step #2 Preheat oven to 350°F Grease a 8 inch baking dish.
  • Step #3 Saute the onions until just soft [for about 5 mins.
  • Step #4 ] Add garlic, ginger & salt & cook for a min or two more.
  • Step #5 Add the cabbage & cook this until the cabbage is limp.
  • Step #6 Stir frequently.
  • Step #7 Now add the chili paste, carrots & seitan.
  • Step #8 Cook until vegetables soft & brown [about 10 mins] If needed add water or broth to preent sticking.
  • Step #9 When you finish sprinkle the sesame oil over the vegetables & remove this from heat.
  • Step #10 Divide filling & place this in tortillas.
  • Step #11 Roll & place seam down in baking dish.
  • Step #12 Cover up tightly with foil wrap & bake for 15 mins or until hot.
  • Step #13 Serve ASAP.
