Big Soft Ginger Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c sugar .
  • 1 tsp baking soda .
  • 1/4 c molasses .
  • 1/4 tsp salt .
  • 1 egg .
  • 2 1/4 c all-purpose flour .
  • 2 tsps ground ginger .
  • 3/4 c butter, softened (no substitutes) .
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves .
  • extra sugar .
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon

Directions
  • Step #1 In a mixing bowl, cream butter & sugar.
  • Step #2 Beat in egg & molasses.
  • Step #3 Combine the flour, cinnamon, baking soda, ginger, cloves & salt; slowly add to the creamed mixture.
  • Step #4 Roll into 1-1/2-in.
  • Step #5 balls, then roll in sugar.
  • Step #6 Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
  • Step #7 Bake at 350 degrees F for 10-12 mins (start checking the cookies at 8 mins) or until puffy & lightly browned.
  • Step #8 Remove to wire racks to cool.
