Chicken Dahi Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 fresh green chilies .
  • 3 lbs skinless chicken, & jointed .
  • 1 onion, sliced .
  • 2 tbsps fresh coriander leaves, sliced .
  • 4 tbsps oil .
  • 5 oz plain yogurt .
  • 4 garlic cloves, sliced .
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 3 dried red chilies .
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric .
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala .
  • 1 inch cube gingerroot, sliced .
  • 1 tbsp ground coriander

Directions
  • Step #1 Cut the chicken joints into two.
  • Step #2 In mixer process the yogurt, red chillies, & ground coriander, ginger, garlic, turmeric, till smooth.
  • Step #3 In a large bowl put the chicken & cover with the spice mix, stir well & put in the fridge overnight.
  • Step #4 Transfer the chicken & it's marinade to a pot, cover with a lid & cook over med-heat/flame till the chicken is tender.
  • Step #5 Remove from the heat.
  • Step #6 In a large frying pan heat the oil.
  • Step #7 fry the onions till brown.
  • Step #8 Add the chicken & fry for 4 mins stiring a few times.
  • Step #9 Add the green chillies, salt & garam masala, cook for 3 mins Remove from the heat, stir in the half of the coriander leaves.
  • Step #10 Serve with the remaining coriander leaves sprinkled on top.
