Mary's Swiss Steak Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 lbs round steaks, cut into 1/2 in. thick strips .
  • 1/2 c flour, unsifted .
  • 6 tbsps margarine .
  • 1 c water .
  • 2 c sliced onions .
  • 1/2 c sour cream .
  • 1 tsp pepper .
  • 1 tbsp salt .
  • 1 tsp paprika

Directions
  • Step #1 Melt 4 TBSP margarine In a large-ish skillet, then sauté onions.
  • Step #2 Remove from the skillet.
  • Step #3 Coat the steak with the flour.
  • Step #4 Spice up with salt & pepper.
  • Step #5 Melt remaining margarine in the skillet & brown the meat well on both sides.
  • Step #6 Mix with steak the onions, water, sour cream until mixed.
  • Step #7 Cover up & cook over med-heat/flame till meat is tender (30-45 min).
  • Step #8 Uncover & cook this until the sauce thickens (10 min).
  • Step #9 Serve over hot cooked rice or noodles.
