Step #1 In the top of a double boiler (or in bowl in a microwave), melt butter & chocolate.
Step #2 Remove from heat.
Step #3 Beat in sugar.
Step #4 Add eggs, beat until bubbles form (this step is really important-keep beating until you get bubbles).
Step #5 Add vanilla.
Step #6 Stir in flour, baking powder, & salt.
Step #7 Spread in a greased 8" X 8" pan.
Step #8 Bake for 30-35 mins at 350 degress F.
Step #9 Options: add some yogurt or applesauce for moister brownies.
Step #10 Stir in some chocolate chips and/or raisins (soak the raisins in water & drain, before adding)at the end.
