West Coast Tangy Honeyed Shrimp Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tsps garlic, minced .
  • 2 tbsps ketchup .
  • 2 green onions, cut into thin strips .
  • 1 1/2 lbs fresh shrimp, large, & unpeeled .
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced .
  • hot cooked rice .
  • 1/8 tsp dried crushed red pepper flakes .
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar .
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil .
  • 2 tbsps honey .
  • 3 tbsps peanut oil or vegetable oil .
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce .
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch .
  • 1 tbsp rice wine or dry sherry .
  • 1 tsp sliced fresh cilantro .
  • 10 1/2 oz canned chicken broth

Directions
  • Step #1 Peel shrimp, & devein, if desired.
  • Step #2 Cook shrimp, garlic, & ginger in oil In a large-ish skillet over med.
  • Step #3 -high heat.
  • Step #4 stirring constantly, about 8 mins, or until shrimp turn pink.
  • Step #5 Combine broth & next 7 ingredients, stirring until smooth.
  • Step #6 Add to shrimp mixture, stirring constantly.
  • Step #7 Bring to a boil, cook 1 min.
  • Step #8 Stir in sesame oil, green onions, & cilantro; cook this until thoroughly heated.
  • Step #9 Serve as soon as possible, with rice.
