Candied Yams Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/3 c reduced-calorie margarine .
  • 2 tsps cinnamon .
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar .
  • ground cloves .
  • 1/3 c raisins .
  • 3 tbsps sugar substitute .
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg .
  • 6 medium yams, broiled in skin until tender (20-30 mins) .
  • 1 c cold water

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step #2 Cool yams, peel, & slice lengthwise.
  • Step #3 Place yam slices in a covered baking dish.
  • Step #4 Sprinkle top the raisins over the yams.
  • Step #5 In a separate bowl, mix the brown sugar, sugar substitute, & spices; sprinkle it over the yams.
  • Step #6 Dot with margarine & add water.
  • Step #7 Cover up baking dish & bake for 30 mins.
  • Step #8 Remove cover then bake another 15-20 mins.
