Cranberry Nut Bagels Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsps brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 tsps active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/4 tsps ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/8 c water (70 to 80 degrees F)
  • 2 tbsps sugar
  • TOPPING:
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 c quick-cooking oats
  • 1/4 c sliced pecans
  • 3/4 c dried cranberries
  • 3 c bread flour

Directions
  • Step #1 In bread machine pan, place the first seven ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer.
  • Step #2 Select dough setting (check dough after 5 mins of mixing; add 1 to 2 tbsps of water or flour if needed).
  • Step #3 Just before the final kneading (your machine may audibly signal this), add the cranberries & pecans.
  • Step #4 When cycle is completed, turn dough onto a lightly floured surface; cover & let rest for 5 mins.
  • Step #5 Divide into eight balls.
  • Step #6 Push thumb through the center of each ball to form a 1-in.
  • Step #7 hole.
  • Step #8 Place on a lightly floured surface.
  • Step #9 Cover & let rest for 5 mins.
  • Step #10 In a large saucepan, bring 2-qt.
  • Step #11 water to a boil.
  • Step #12 Drop bagels, one at a time, into boiling water.
  • Step #13 Cook for 45 seconds; turn & cook 45 seconds longer.
  • Step #14 Remove with a slotted spoon; drain well on paper towels.
  • Step #15 Combine brown sugar & cinnamon; sprinkle it over bagels.
  • Step #16 Place 2 in.
  • Step #17 apart on greased baking sheets.
  • Step #18 Bake at 375 degrees F for 20-25 mins or until golden brown.
