Ingredients
2 tbsps brown sugar
2 1/2 tsps active dry yeast
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 1/4 tsps ground cinnamon
1 1/8 c water (70 to 80 degrees F)
2 tbsps sugar
TOPPING:
1 tsp salt
1/4 c quick-cooking oats
1/4 c sliced pecans
3/4 c dried cranberries
3 c bread flour
Directions
Step #1 In bread machine pan, place the first seven ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer.
Step #2 Select dough setting (check dough after 5 mins of mixing; add 1 to 2 tbsps of water or flour if needed).
Step #3 Just before the final kneading (your machine may audibly signal this), add the cranberries & pecans.
Step #4 When cycle is completed, turn dough onto a lightly floured surface; cover & let rest for 5 mins.
Step #5 Divide into eight balls.
Step #6 Push thumb through the center of each ball to form a 1-in.
Step #7 hole.
Step #8 Place on a lightly floured surface.
Step #9 Cover & let rest for 5 mins.
Step #10 In a large saucepan, bring 2-qt.
Step #11 water to a boil.
Step #12 Drop bagels, one at a time, into boiling water.
Step #13 Cook for 45 seconds; turn & cook 45 seconds longer.
Step #14 Remove with a slotted spoon; drain well on paper towels.
Step #15 Combine brown sugar & cinnamon; sprinkle it over bagels.
Step #16 Place 2 in.
Step #17 apart on greased baking sheets.
Step #18 Bake at 375 degrees F for 20-25 mins or until golden brown.
