Cherokee Chicken Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (8 oz) can whole cranberry sauce
  • 2 tbsps butter
  • 1 (2.5 lb) whole chicken, cut into pieces
  • salt & black pepper to taste
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/4 c vegetable oil
  • 1/4 c sliced onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsps sweet vermouth

Directions
  • Step #1 Pour oil into a large skillet over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #2 Place chicken pieces in the skillet, & cook this until golden on all sides, about 10 mins.
  • Step #3 Discard all but 2 tbsps of oil.
  • Step #4 Stir in green peppers, garlic, & onions; cook this until soft, about 10 mins.
  • Step #5 Pour vermouth into skillet.
  • Step #6 Stir in cranberry sauce, salt, & pepper.
  • Step #7 Cover, & let simmer 25 mins.
