Butterscotch Tea Party Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c butterscotch chips, melted .
  • 2 tbsps milk .
  • 2 tsps pure vanilla extract .
  • 2/3 c brown sugar, packed .
  • 1 c butter or margarine, softened .
  • 1 egg .
  • 1/3 c granulated sugar .
  • 3 c all-purpose flour .
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

Directions
  • Step #1 In large mixing bowl, sugars, mix butter, egg & vanilla.
  • Step #2 Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until light & fluffy.
  • Step #3 Add flour, melted chips, milk & baking soda.
  • Step #4 Beat at lowish speed until soft dough forms.
  • Step #5 Cover up with plastic wrap.
  • Step #6 Chill 3 to 4 hrs, or until firm.
  • Step #7 Heat oven to 350°F.
  • Step #8 Divide dough into thirds.
  • Step #9 Cover up 2/3 dough with plastic wrap; chill in the fridge.
  • Step #10 On lightly floured surface, roll remaining third dough to 1/4-inch thickness.
  • Step #11 Using 2 to 3-inch cookie cutters, cut desired shapes into dough.
  • Step #12 Place shapes 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Step #13 Repeat with remaining dough.
  • Step #14 Bake for 6 to 7 mins, or until edges are golden brown; cool completely.
  • Step #15 If desired, decorate cookies with favorite frosting.
  • Step #16 Let dry completely before storing.
  • Step #17 Tip: If desired, sprinkle cookies with extra granulated sugar before baking.
