Italian Bread Garden Loaf Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed .
  • 1 tsp onion powder .
  • 8 oz italian frozen mixed vegetables (or any mixed vegetable of your choice) .
  • 4 tbsps olive oil .
  • 1/2 tsp oregano .
  • 1 c light mayonnaise .
  • 1 round loaf Italian bread .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 1 oz fresh basil or 1 tbsp dried basil

Directions
  • Step #1 Cut off about the top 1 inch of the bread loaf & scoop out the bread, leaving about 1/2-1 inch all around.
  • Step #2 Cut bread into cubes, toast in oven at 350° for about 20 mins.
  • Step #3 Watch so they don't burn.
  • Step #4 Meanwhile, cook vegetables in microwave for 3 mins.
  • Step #5 Combine oil, garlic, basil, salt, oregano, & onion powder & mixer until basil is well sliced.
  • Step #6 Pour into mixing bowl & add mayo & vegetables.
  • Step #7 Mix well before folding in bread cubes.
  • Step #8 If the recipe appears too dry, add more mayo.
  • Step #9 Fill empty bread with this mix; replace top bread piece.
  • Step #10 Bake in preheated 350° oven for 30 mins with a piece of aluminum foil wrap folded over bread.
  • Step #11 Remove foil wrap & bake 15 more mins.
