Kahlua Chili Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp oregano .
  • 1 tbsp cumin powder .
  • 1 (15 oz) can sliced tomatoes (do not drain) .
  • 1 (6 oz) can tomato paste .
  • 1 large red pepper, sliced .
  • 1 lb ground turkey breast .
  • 1/2 c Kahlua .
  • 1-3 jalapeno pepper, minced (optional) .
  • 1-2 c fat free chicken broth .
  • 1 large green pepper, sliced .
  • 2 tsps salt .
  • 2 large garlic cloves, Minced .
  • 2 large onions, Chopped .
  • 2 tbsps chili powder .
  • 1 (15 oz) can red kidney beans, drained .
  • 1 large yellow pepper, sliced

Directions
  • Step #1 Simmer the peppers, onions, & mince garlic cloves in chicken broth for 10 mins.
  • Step #2 (use enough broth to cover vegetables).
  • Step #3 Add canned tomatoes, tomato paste, & raw ground turkey then heat to almost boiling.
  • Step #4 Simmer another 10 mins.
  • Step #5 (Add more broth, if needed, to simmer turkey in).
  • Step #6 Add oregano, cumin, salt & chili powder.
  • Step #7 Mix well & heat until boiling, stirring often.
  • Step #8 Add kidney beans & ¼ c Kahlua.
  • Step #9 Lower heat & let simmer for 40 mins, stirring often to prevent sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  • Step #10 Add another ¼ c Kahlua.
  • Step #11 Simmer for another 20 mins, stirring frequently.
  • Step #12 Turn off the heat & let sit for 15-20 mins.
  • Step #13 Ladle into bowls, then top this with cheddar cheese, sour cream.
  • Step #14 Serve with corn bread.
