Mom Hart's Pie Crust Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c ice water .
  • 2 tsps salt .
  • 1/2 c sugar .
  • 2 1/4 c shortening .
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar .
  • 6 1/2-7 c flour

Directions
  • Step #1 Mix flour & shortening with pastry mixer until crumbly.
  • Step #2 Make well in the center.
  • Step #3 Mix water & vinegar & then pour this into well in flour mixture.
  • Step #4 Stir with fork then use hand to finish mixing.
  • Step #5 Form into 6 balls of dough.
  • Step #6 Use one ball for bottom crust & one for top.
  • Step #7 Freeze unused balls by wrapping in foil wrap & placing in ziploc bags.
  • Step #8 Use within 3 months.
