Penne With Cheesy Meat Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 lb penne, uncooked .
  • 1 c milk .
  • parmesan cheese .
  • fresh basil .
  • 1 pinch black pepper .
  • 1-1 1/2 lb ground beef .
  • 1 1/2 c shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or tex mex) or 8 processed cheese slices .
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch .
  • 1 1/2 c smooth tomato sauce (not chunky)

Directions
  • Step #1 Cook penne until done; rinse & drain.
  • Step #2 Meanwhile, brown ground beef in large skillet; drain.
  • Step #3 Sauté 1/4 c sliced mush roooms & finely minced garlic in 1 tsps olive oil, if desired.
  • Step #4 Return meat to skillet with mush rooms over low heat/flame; add tomato sauce, pepper, & basil.
  • Step #5 Dissolve cornstarch in 3 tbsps milk; mix in remaining milk.
  • Step #6 Add to meat & stir over low heat/flame until slightly thickened.
  • Step #7 Add processed cheese slices & stir until melted.
  • Step #8 Toss with hot pasta.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top generously with parmesan.
  • Step #10 You can replace the penne with fusilli or elbow macaroni.
  • Step #11 Use just about any kind of cheese you want.
  • Step #12 Tex mex worked very well.
