Walnut Pound Cake - B-h-g Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c shortening .
  • 3 c flour .
  • 1 c finely sliced walnuts .
  • 5 eggs .
  • 3 c sugar .
  • 1 c milk .
  • 1/4 tsp salt .
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder .
  • 1 c butter .
  • 2 tsps vanilla

Directions
  • Step #1 Cream butter & Shortening thoroughly.
  • Step #2 Add sugar, 1/2 c at a time.
  • Step #3 Beat until light.
  • Step #4 Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
  • Step #5 Add 2 c flour alternately with milk containing flavoring.
  • Step #6 Add the last 1 c flour containing salt & baking powder.
  • Step #7 Stir in 1 c finely sliced walnuts.
  • Step #8 The batter will be thick & fluffy.
  • Step #9 Spoon into tube pan, which has been lightly greased & floured.
  • Step #10 Place the cake in COLD oven on middle shelf.
  • Step #11 Turn oven to 350ºF.
  • Step #12 Don't open door for 1 1/4 hrs.
  • Step #13 Allow cake to cool in pan on wire rack.
