Crispy Tofu And Bacon Wraps Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1/4 c sliced fresh Italian parsley
  • 1/4 tsp mustard powder
  • 1 (12 oz) package egg roll wrappers
  • 1 (16 oz) package tofu, drained & cubed
  • 2 tbsps red wine
  • 1/4 tsp curry powder
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, coarsely sliced
  • canola oil for frying
  • 3/4 c crumbled cooked bacon
  • 6 large green onions, sliced
  • 1 tomato, coarsely sliced
  • 1 yellow onion, roughly sliced
  • 8 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 tsp dill weed
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 20 mushrooms

Directions
  • Step #1 Place the tofu, yellow onion, red pepper, garlic, tomato, green onion, mushrooms, & bacon in the bowl of a food processor/blender.
  • Step #2 Spice up with fish sauce, pepper, curry powder, red wine, parsley, salt, mustard powder, dill, & ginger; puree until smooth.
  • Step #3 Place an egg roll wrapper on your work surface with a corner pointing towards you.
  • Step #4 Spoon 1 to 2 tbsps of the tofu mixture in between the center & bottom corner of the wrapper.
  • Step #5 Fold the corner closest to you over the top of the filling, then fold in the left & right sides.
  • Step #6 Moisten the top corner with a little water, & roll up tightly.
  • Step #7 Heat a few inches of canola oil in a large pot to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Step #8 Fry the wraps a few at a time until the center has cooked & the outside is golden brown.
  • Step #9 Drain on paper towels & serve hot.
