Fresh, Fried & Spicy Soft Tacos Recipe

Ingredients
  • 6 fajita-size flour tortillas, 6-inch diameter .
  • 1/2 c lettuce, sliced .
  • 1 1/2 c Mexican mix cheese, four cheese mix .
  • 1 (1 1/4 oz) package taco seasoning mix .
  • 1 lb ground beef .
  • 1 tbsp red peppers (cayenne) .
  • 1/2 c taco sauce, from a jar .
  • 3 c canola oil, enough to fill a large skillet about 1 inch high .
  • 3/4 c water

Directions
  • Step #1 In a medium skillet, brown meat on medium-high heat.
  • Step #2 Drain fat.
  • Step #3 Stir in Taco Spice uping Mix, red pepper & water.
  • Step #4 Bring to a boil.
  • Step #5 Reduce heat & let simmer for approximately 5 mins.
  • Step #6 While meat is simmering, add oil to a separate large skillet on low until oil is hot.
  • Step #7 Using tongs, immerse one tortilla at a time completely in oil.
  • Step #8 Cook tortilla for approximately one min, turning it over several times in the oil.
  • Step #9 Remove tortilla from oil & place on paper towel.
  • Step #10 Plate each tortilla & add a couple spoons of seasoned meat, cheese & lettuce.
  • Step #11 Fold tortilla over & serve.
  • Step #12 Top with taco sauce, sour cream, salsa if desired.
