Chocolate Mint Cake Squares Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 c confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 c butter
  • 16 oz chocolate syrup
  • 6 tbsps butter
  • 1 c white sugar
  • 4 tbsps creme de menthe liqueur
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 c butter, softened
  • 1 c semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 c all-purpose flour

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Step #2 Grease one 13x 9 inch baking pan.
  • Step #3 Cream 1/2 c butter or margarine with 1 c white sugar.
  • Step #4 Beat in the eggs.
  • Step #5 Stir in the chocolate syrup & vanilla.
  • Step #6 Mix in the flour & salt.
  • Step #7 Stir until just mixd.
  • Step #8 Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  • Step #9 Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 mins or until cake tests done.
  • Step #10 Let cake cool before frosting with Mint Layer & Chocolate Glaze.
  • Step #11 To Make Mint Layer: Combine the confectioners sugar, 1/2 c butter & the creme de menthe syrup, mix until light.
  • Step #12 Spread over the top of the cooled cake.
  • Step #13 To Make The Chocolate Glaze: Melt the chocolate chips & 6 tbsps butter together.
  • Step #14 Let cool slightly then spread over top of the mint layer.
  • Step #15 Chill cake for at least 3 hrs or overnight.
  • Step #16 Cut into small blocks to serve.
  • Step #17 This cake needs to be kept put in the fridged.
