Starbucks Pumpkin Scones Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg .
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg .
  • 3 tbsps half-and-half .
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon .
  • 7 tbsps sugar .
  • 2 c all-purpose flour .
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves .
  • 1 pinch ginger .
  • 6 tbsps cold butter .
  • 1 pinch ground cloves .
  • 1 large egg .
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar .
  • 1 c powdered sugar .
  • 3 tbsps powdered sugar .
  • 1 c powdered sugar .
  • 2 tbsps whole milk .
  • 2 tbsps whole milk .
  • 1/2 c canned pumpkin .
  • 1 tbsp baking powder .
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Directions
  • Step #1 TO MAKE THE SCONES:.
  • Step #2 Preheat oven to 425F degrees F.
  • Step #3 Lightly oil a baking sheet or line with parchment paper.
  • Step #4 Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, & spices In a large-ish bowl.
  • Step #5 Using a pastry knife, fork, or food processor/blender, cut butter into the dry ingredients until mixture is crumbly & no chunks of butter are obvious.
  • Step #6 Set aside.
  • Step #7 In a separate bowl, whisk together pumpkin, half & half, & egg.
  • Step #8 Fold wet ingredients into dry ingredients.
  • Step #9 Form the dough into a ball.
  • Step #10 Pat out dough onto a lightly floured surface & form it into a 1-inch thick rectangle (about 9 inches long & 3 inches wide).
  • Step #11 Use a large knife or a pizza cutter to slice the dough twice through the width, making three equal portions.
  • Step #12 Cut those three slices diagonally so that you have 6 triangular slices of dough.
  • Step #13 Place on prepared baking sheet.
  • Step #14 Bake for 14–16 mins.
  • Step #15 Scones should begin to turn light brown.
  • Step #16 Place on wire rack to cool.
  • Step #17 TO MAKE THE PLAIN GLAZE:.
  • Step #18 Mix the powdered sugar & 2 tbsp milk together until smooth.
  • Step #19 When scones are cool, use a brush to paint plain glaze over the top of each scone.
  • Step #20 AS THAT WHITE GLAZE FIRMS UP, MAKE THE SPICED ICING:.
  • Step #21 Combine the ingredient for the spiced icing together.
  • Step #22 Drizzle this thicker icing over each scone & allow the icing to dry before serving (at least 1 hr).
  • Step #23 A squirt bottle works great for this, or you can drizzle with a whisk.
