Step #3 Lightly oil a baking sheet or line with parchment paper.
Step #4 Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, & spices In a large-ish bowl.
Step #5 Using a pastry knife, fork, or food processor/blender, cut butter into the dry ingredients until mixture is crumbly & no chunks of butter are obvious.
Step #6 Set aside.
Step #7 In a separate bowl, whisk together pumpkin, half & half, & egg.
Step #8 Fold wet ingredients into dry ingredients.
Step #9 Form the dough into a ball.
Step #10 Pat out dough onto a lightly floured surface & form it into a 1-inch thick rectangle (about 9 inches long & 3 inches wide).
Step #11 Use a large knife or a pizza cutter to slice the dough twice through the width, making three equal portions.
Step #12 Cut those three slices diagonally so that you have 6 triangular slices of dough.
Step #13 Place on prepared baking sheet.
Step #14 Bake for 14–16 mins.
Step #15 Scones should begin to turn light brown.
Step #16 Place on wire rack to cool.
Step #17 TO MAKE THE PLAIN GLAZE:.
Step #18 Mix the powdered sugar & 2 tbsp milk together until smooth.
Step #19 When scones are cool, use a brush to paint plain glaze over the top of each scone.
Step #20 AS THAT WHITE GLAZE FIRMS UP, MAKE THE SPICED ICING:.
Step #21 Combine the ingredient for the spiced icing together.
Step #22 Drizzle this thicker icing over each scone & allow the icing to dry before serving (at least 1 hr).
Step #23 A squirt bottle works great for this, or you can drizzle with a whisk.
