Kissables Chocolate Candies Thumbprint Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 c milk .
  • 1 c butter or margarine, softened .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 1 1/3 c granulated sugar .
  • 2 tsps vanilla extract .
  • extra powdered sugar .
  • powdered sugar .
  • 1 (16 oz) can vanilla frosting .
  • 2 c all-purpose flour .
  • 1 1/3 c Hershey's chocolate kisses (decorative candies) .
  • 2/3 c hershey's cocoa .
  • 2 egg yolks

Directions
  • Step #1 Beat butter, granulated sugar, egg yolks, milk & vanilla until fluffy.
  • Step #2 Combine flour, cocoa & salt; slowly add to butter mixture, beating until well mixed.
  • Step #3 Cover up; put in the fridge dough about 2 hrs or until firm enough to handle.
  • Step #4 Heat oven to 350°F Lightly grease cookie sheet.
  • Step #5 Shape dough into 1-1/8-inch balls.
  • Step #6 Roll in powdered sugar; place on prepared cookie sheet.
  • Step #7 Press thumb in center of each cookie.
  • Step #8 Bake 10 to 12 mins or until set.
  • Step #9 Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack; cool completely.
  • Step #10 Spoon frosting into heavy-duty resealable plastic food storeage bag.
  • Step #11 Cut off corner of bag about 1/4 inch from point; pipe frosting into thumbprint indentations.
  • Step #12 Sift extra powdered sugar over filled cookies, if desired.
  • Step #13 Gently press 3 to 4 candies each filled cookie.
  • Step #14 VANILLA VARIATION: Increase flour to 2-3/4 c; omit cocoa.
