Chicken Livers Fandango Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (10.75 oz) can condensed golden mushroom soup
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 lb chicken livers, trimmed & cut into bite sized pieces
  • 3 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 c dry white wine
  • 1 (4.5 oz) can sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1/2 c all-purpose flour for coating
  • 1 c chicken stock
  • 3 slices bacon

Directions
  • Step #1 In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, salt & pepper.
  • Step #2 Place chicken livers into the seasoned flour, & toss to coat.
  • Step #3 Place bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Step #4 Fry until browned & crisp.
  • Step #5 Remove to paper towels to drain.
  • Step #6 Shake off excess flour from the livers, & fry in the bacon grease along with the green onions until lightly browned on the outside.
  • Step #7 Pour the chicken stock into the skillet, & stir this to scrape up any bits of goodness from the bottom.
  • Step #8 Transfer the mixture to a slow cooker, & crumble in the bacon.
  • Step #9 Stir in the golden mushroom soup, mushrooms & white wine.
  • Step #10 Cover, & cook on Low for 4 to 6 hrs.
  • Step #11 Thicken the gravy with flour if desired before serving.
