Candy Cane Brownies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2/3 c unsweetened cocoa powder .
  • 10 candy canes, finely crushed, reserving 2 tbsps .
  • 1 tsp vanilla .
  • 3/4 c unsalted butter .
  • 1/4 tsp salt .
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature .
  • 1 c all-purpose flour .
  • 1 1/2 c sugar .
  • 12 oz chocolate chips, divided .
  • 1/2 c warm milk

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350.
  • Step #2 Coat an 8 inch square pan with cooking spray.
  • Step #3 Mix sugar, salt & flour.
  • Step #4 Set aside.
  • Step #5 In double boiler or microwave safe bowl, mix butter & half the chocolate chips.
  • Step #6 Melt, stirring often, then remove this from heat.
  • Step #7 Whisk in the cocoa, transfer to a large mixing bowl & set aside.
  • Step #8 In large measuring c, whisk together eggs, vanilla & milk.
  • Step #9 Add this to the chocolate & cocoa mixture & whisk well to mix.
  • Step #10 Fold in the flour mixture, then add the remaining chocolate chips & all but 2 tbsps of the crushed candy canes.
  • Step #11 Transfer to prepared pan & sprinkle top this with 1 tbsp of crushed candy.
  • Step #12 Bake 45 mins or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out covered with cakey bits.
  • Step #13 Dust top this with remaining candy.
