German-style Stuffed Kohlrabi
Ingredients
1 1/2 c bread flour .
1 c whole wheat flour .
1 tsp salt .
1/2 tsp pepper .
1 c warm water .
1/2 head cabbage, shredded .
1 tsp salt .
1 tsp yeast .
2 tbsps oil .
1 tbsp italian seasoning .
1 (14 oz) can tomato sauce .
1/2 onion, sliced .
1 tbsp sugar .
1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
Directions
Step #1 For dough:.
Step #2 In a bread machine add first 7 ingredients & set to 1lb dough cycle.
Step #3 For filling:.
Step #4 Brown beef & onions.
Step #5 Drain.
Step #6 Add cabbage & seasonings to beef & saute until tender.
Step #7 Add tomato sauce & let simmer 10 mins.
Step #8 Divide dough into 4 small dough balls.
Step #9 Take one dough ball & roll out onto a lightly floured surface.
Step #10 Place 1/4 meat mixture in the center of the rolled out dough.
Step #11 Fold over & pinch edges to seal.
Step #12 Place each pasty onto a nonstick cookie sheet & bake this at 375F for 25-30 mins or until golden brown.
