Slow-cooker Roast And Gravy Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 1/2-4 lbs eye of round roast, trimmed (I like to use Chuck roast) .
  • 1 (10 1/2 oz) can condensed beef broth .
  • 1 (1 oz) envelope onion & mushroom soup mix .
  • 1/2 tsp pepper .
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 2 tbsps vegetable oil .
  • 2 tbsps all-purpose flour .
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz) can condensed cream of mushroom & garlic soup

Directions
  • Step #1 Stir together first 3 ingredients in a 5 1/2-qt.
  • Step #2 slow cooker (aka crockpot).
  • Step #3 Sprinkle top roast evenly with flour, salt, & pepper.
  • Step #4 Brown roast on all sides in hot oil In a large-ish Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
  • Step #5 Transfer roast to slow cooker (aka crockpot).
  • Step #6 Cover up & cook on LOW 8 hrs.
  • Step #7 Remove roast from slow cooker (aka crockpot); slice to serve.
  • Step #8 Skim fat from gravy in slow cooker (aka crockpot), if desired.
  • Step #9 Whisk gravy; serve over roast.
  • Step #10 Serves 6.
