Scalloped Potatoes With Goat Cheese And Herbes De Provence Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c dry white wine .
  • 1/4 tsp herbes de provence .
  • 1 tbsp gravy flour .
  • 1 1/2 c canned chicken broth .
  • 1/2 c milk .
  • 200 g grated gruyere cheese (you can substitute this with 150- 200g grated Parmesan, Asiago, Pecorino or Manchego cheese) .
  • 4 lbs russet potatoes, peeled, thinly sliced .
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic .
  • 1 c whipping cream .
  • 1/4 c crushed graham crackers .
  • 1/2 c minced shallots .
  • 3/4 tsp salt .
  • 1/4 tsp mild paprika .
  • 4 tsps herbes de provence

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 370°F Butter 13 x 9 x 2-inch glass baking dish.
  • Step #2 Mix 1/4 part of grated cheese, crushed graham crakers, paprika & herbes de provence.
  • Step #3 Set aside.
  • Step #4 Mix first 9 ingredients in large pot.
  • Step #5 Bring to simmer over medium-high heat while stirring constantly.
  • Step #6 Add remaining 3/4 of cheese; whisk until smooth.
  • Step #7 Add potatoes to pot; bring to simmer.
  • Step #8 Transfer potato mixture to prepared dish, spreading evenly.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top the cheese, herbs & graham mixture evenly on top of the potato mixture in the glass dish.
  • Step #10 Cover up with foil wrap; bake 30 mins.
  • Step #11 Uncover & bake this until potatoes are very tender, the top crust is golden & liquid bubbles thickly, about 35 mins.
  • Step #12 Let cool 15 mins before serving.
