Egyptian Milk Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 c granulated sugar .
  • 1 (15 oz) can pumpkin .
  • 1 1/2 tsps baking soda .
  • 6 oz milk chocolate chips (semi-sweet is ok,too) .
  • 6 eggs, slightly beaten or equivalent egg substitute .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 1 tbsp pumpkin pie spice or apple pie spice .
  • 3/4 c brown sugar .
  • 3/4 c melted butter or margarine .
  • 3 c all-purpose flour .
  • 1 1/2 tsps baking powder

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Step #2 Generously spray the tube pan with a nonstick spray.
  • Step #3 set aside 1/2c flour in a small bowl.
  • Step #4 In a large-ish bowl,mix the pumpkin,melted butter & eggs.
  • Step #5 Add the pumpkin mixture to flour mixture & stir until mixd.
  • Step #6 Add the chocolate chip mixture.
  • Step #7 Stir until mixd, then pour the batter into the tube pan.
  • Step #8 Bake for 60 mins or until a wooden toothepick comes out clean, when tested near the center of the cake.
  • Step #9 Cool pan on a wire rack for 15 mins.
  • Step #10 Gently remove the cake from the pan & cool for 30 mins.
  • Step #11 garnish with powdered sugar or drizzle with icing.
