My Lasagna Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 lbs Italian sausage .
  • 2 eggs, beaten .
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper .
  • 10-12 lasagna noodles, cooked. I prefer the ribbed ones .
  • 2-4 garlic cloves, minced .
  • 8 oz tomato sauce .
  • 2 tbsps dried parsley flakes .
  • 12 oz tomato paste .
  • 1 tbsp basil .
  • 1/2 c parmesan cheese or romano cheese, grated .
  • 30-32 oz ricotta cheese .
  • 14 oz sliced tomatoes, undrained .
  • 1 lb mozzarella cheese, sliced

Directions
  • Step #1 Cook the noodles according to package directions.
  • Step #2 Drain in a colander & run cold water over them to easily separate them.
  • Step #3 Squeeze sausage from casings & brown on medium heat until all pink is gone.
  • Step #4 Add the next 5 ingredients.
  • Step #5 Simmer, uncovered 30 mins, stirring every once in awhile.
  • Step #6 Combine the next 5 ingredients In a large-ish bowl.
  • Step #7 Spray Pam or lightly grease a 9X13 casserole.
  • Step #8 Lay 3 noodles on the bottom of the casserole & line the sides with the noodles too.
  • Step #9 Spread 1/2 the ricotta mixture on top of the noodles, then half of the slices of mozzarella, then half of the meat mixture.
  • Step #10 Put more noodles on the meat mixture.
  • Step #11 Then the rest of the ricotta, the mozzarella, & the meat sauce.
  • Step #12 Sprinkle top more Parmesan or Romano on top.
  • Step #13 Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven until brown & bubbly, for about 30-40 mins.
  • Step #14 If put in the fridged first, add approximately 15 more mins.
  • Step #15 I like to serve this with garlic bread & a Caesar or green salad.
