Step #1 In a bowl mix the flour, powder, & salt; set aside.
Step #2 With an electric mixer mix the butter, sugar, lemon rind, & lemon juice; cream till light & fluffy--about 2 mins.
Step #3 Add eggs, one at a time beating well after each addition.
Step #4 Stir in poppy seeds.
Step #5 Fold in the flour mixture alternately with the milk.
Step #6 Do not overmix the batter.
Step #7 Put in paper-lined tins.
Step #8 Bake at 375 dgrees for about 25 mins.
Step #9 GLAZE: While baking, mix the confectioners sugar with the lemon juice, vanilla, & almond.
Step #10 When the muffins come out of the oven generously brush each one with the lemon glaze; remove this from pan & put on rack to cool for 10 mins before serving.
