Step #2 Bring to a boil over low heat, stirring constantly to prevent scorching.
Step #3 Add the honey and peanut butter & continue cooking for about 5 mins, or until syrup is smooth & slightly thickened.
Step #4 In a large bowl, coconut, cinnamon, oats, milk powder, mix together the wheat germ, & orange rind (if desired).
Step #5 Pour about one c of the carob syrup over the dry mixture, or as much as is needed to make a pliable, dough-like consistency.
Step #6 Store the remainder in the refrigerator & use as an icing or to make great milk shakes.
Step #7 Pinch off pieces of the dough & roll each piece between your palms into 2-inch-long tubes about the circumference of a fountain pen, tapered at one end in the shape of a baseball bat.
Step #8 Roll the rest into marble-sized balls.
Step #9 Yield: 18 bats & 18 balls.
Step #10 Approximately 80 calories in each set.
