Bitter Gourd Pickle Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 1/3 c Castor sugar
  • 1/2 Vanilla pod
  • 1 c Dutch cocoa
  • 2 c Water

Directions
  • Step #1 Split vanilla pod in half.
  • Step #2 Place water, cocoa & vanilla pod in a medium saucepan, sugar, bring to the boil & boil for about 3 mins.
  • Step #3 pour this into a bowl & cool.
  • Step #4 Discard vanilla pod.
  • Step #5 Place cold preparation into an ice-cream maker & churn until ready.
  • Step #6 store this in a covered container in the freezer until required.
  • Step #7 It keeps well for 3-4 days, but the fresher the better.
  • Step #8 If you do not own an ice cream maker, pour the preparation into a stainless steel bowl & place it in the freezer.
  • Step #9 When it starts to set, whisk for 10 seconds.
  • Step #10 Return to the freezer & whisk again when it starts to set.
  • Step #11 When the sorbet is too firm to whisk it is ready.
