Chocolate Chip Angel Food Cake With Chocolate Ganache Recipe

Ingredients
  • A pinch of salt
  • A few drops of vanilla essence
  • 115 g Caster sugar;
  • 55 g Hazelnuts; roughly sliced
  • 55 g Light soft brown sugar;
  • 85 g Plain chocolate; sliced into small chunks
  • 1 md Egg; beaten
  • 175 g Self-raising flour; sifted
  • 85 g St Ivel Golden Churn;

Directions
  • Step #1 Cream the St Ivel Golden Churn & sugars together in a bowl until light & fluffy.
  • Step #2 stir in the the vanilla essence, then slowly beat in the egg.
  • Step #3 Fold in the flour & salt, then fold in the chocolate chunks and hazelnuts, mixing well.
  • Step #4 Place heaped tspfuls of the mixture onto two lightly greased baking sheets.
  • Step #5 Bake in a preheated oven at 180C / 350F / gas mark 4 for 12-15 mins, or until golden brown.
  • Step #6 Cool slightly on the baking sheets, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Step #7 Variations: Use almonds or pecan nuts in place of hazelnuts.
  • Step #8 Use white or milk chocolate or a mixture of white chocolate and sliced glace cherries in place of the plain chocolate.
