Chocolate Whipped Cream Frosting Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 3/4 c Milk
  • 1/4 ts Salt
  • 1 ds Grand Marnier
  • 2 Egg whites
  • 2 pt Fresh raspberries
  • Shaker of powdered sugar
  • 1 tb Baking powder
  • 1/2 c Melted butter; plus
  • 2 c Sweetened whipped cream
  • 1 ts Vanilla
  • 5 tb Melted butter
  • 1/2 c Sugar
  • 2 Egg yolks
  • 1/3 c Melted semisweet chocolate
  • 1 1/2 c Flour

Directions
  • Step #1 In a mixing bowl mix flour, baking powder & salt.
  • Step #2 In another bowl beat the chocolate, egg yolks & vanilla slightly.
  • Step #3 Beat the milk & 1/2 c of the butter into the egg mixture.
  • Step #4 Fold the flour mixture into the egg mixture.
  • Step #5 Stir until mixd yet still slightly lumpy.
  • Step #6 In a small bowl beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  • Step #7 carefully fold beaten egg whites into batter, leaving little fluffs of egg whites.
  • Step #8 Pour 1 c batter onto grids of a preheated, lightly greased waffle iron (grease the waffle iron with 2 tbsps of the butter, in all).
  • Step #9 Close lid quickly; do not open during baking.
  • Step #10 Bake according to the manufacturer's directions for the waffle iron.
  • Step #11 In a saute pan, melt the remaining butter.
  • Step #12 Add the sugar, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves, about 1 min.
  • Step #13 Add the raspberries & saute for 2 to 3 mins.
  • Step #14 remove this from the heat and add the Grand Marnier.
  • Step #15 Flame the liquor & continue to cook for 1 min.
  • Step #16 Serve the waffles with the raspberry syrup & sweetened whipped cream.
  • Step #17 Garnish with powdered sugar.
  • Step #18 This recipe yields 4 servings.
