Ingredients
  • 1 qt CORN OIL, APPROX.
  • 2 tb SOY SAUCE
  • 2 tb sliced GREEN ONIONS
  • 2 tb SUGAR
  • BATTER
  • 1 1/2 tb VINEGAR
  • 12 JUMBO SHRIMP
  • 1 EGG
  • 1/2 ts BAKING POWDER
  • BATTER
  • 1 c FLOUR
  • 1/2 c CORNSTARCH
  • 1 ts FINELY sliced GARLIC
  • 6 DRY RED PEPPERS
  • 1 ts SESAME OIL

Directions
  • Step #1 Peel & devein shrimp & dry thoroughly.
  • Step #2 Butterfly shrimp: split from back but do not cut through.
  • Step #3 Dip shrimp in batter.
  • Step #4 Deep fry shrimp in 2 in.
  • Step #5 of oil about 3 mins.
  • Step #6 Pre- heat wok or frying pan.
  • Step #7 Put in 1 tbs.
  • Step #8 corn oil & heat.
  • Step #9 Add peppers,onions,soy sauce,garlic, vinegar & sugar.
  • Step #10 Stir.
  • Step #11 Add fried shrimp.
  • Step #12 Baste with sauce.
  • Step #13 Pour on sesame oil.
  • Step #14 Serve at once.
  • Step #15 Always preheat wok, then add oil.
  • Step #16 This prevents extra ingredients from sticking.
  • Step #17 BATTER: Mix dry ingredients.
  • Step #18 slowly add 1.
  • Step #19 Mix dry ingredients.

  • Step #21 slowly add water water until mixture is consistency of pancake batter.
  • Step #22 When preparing the shrimp, use green part of onion as well as white.
  • Step #23 The green actually has more flavor.
