Low-fat Macaroni & Cheese Recipe

Ingredients
  • 10 oz Lasagna Noodles, cooked
  • 8 oz Mushroom pieces, drained
  • 8 oz Mozzarella cheese, part ski
  • 30 oz Low-fat spagetti sauce
  • 1 sm Onion, sliced
  • 2 md Carrots, peeled & shredde
  • 1/2 lb Extra lean ground beef ground turkey may be used
  • 16 oz Fat free or low fat cottage cheese

Directions
  • Step #1 Cook lasagna noodles; drain & set aside.
  • Step #2 In skillet or fry pan, cook meat; drain fat & place meat in colander.
  • Step #3 Rinse with hot water.
  • Step #4 Add mushrooms & onion to cooked meat.
  • Step #5 In a 9x13x2-inch baking pan, half cottage cheese, layer one-third of cooked lasagna noodles with half the meat mixture, half carrots, half Mozzarella and one third sauce.
  • Step #6 Repeat layers.
  • Step #7 top this with remaining noodles & sauce.
  • Step #8 Cook uncovered for 35 mins at 350 degrees.
  • Step #9 remove this from oven; cover with foil.
  • Step #10 let this stand 20 mins before serving.
  • Step #11 8 grams fat per serving.
