Cinnamon Pinwheels Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c sour cream
  • 3 tbsps white sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 c butter
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 1/2 c all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsps white sugar

Directions
  • Step #1 Cut butter or margarine into flour with pastry mixer.
  • Step #2 Stir in sour cream.
  • Step #3 Cover & put in the fridge at least 8 hrs.
  • Step #4 Mix together 3 tbsps sugar & the cinnamon.
  • Step #5 Divide dough into halves.
  • Step #6 Roll 1 half into rectangle, on a sugared, 20 x 7 inches, well-floured cloth-covered board.
  • Step #7 Sprinkle top with half of the sugar-cinnamon mixture.
  • Step #8 Roll up tightly, beginning on the 7 inch side.
  • Step #9 Roll other half of dough into a 20 x7 inch rectangle.
  • Step #10 Sprinkle top with remaining sugar-cinnamon mixture.
  • Step #11 Place loose end of roll on the 7 inch side of the rectangle; pinch edges to seal.
  • Step #12 Continue to roll up tightly; pinching edges of dough into roll to seal.
  • Step #13 Wrap & put in the fridge at least 1 hr but no longer than 48 hrs.
  • Step #14 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Step #15 Cut roll this into 1/4 inch slices.
  • Step #16 (For easier cutting, wrap a length of thread around roll at 1/4 inch increments & pull tightly until slice is cut.
  • Step #17 ) Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Step #18 Mix 3 tbsps sugar & the water; brush over cookies.
  • Step #19 Bake until golden brown, 20-25 mins.
