Chocolate Pecan Pieii Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch single crust pie
  • 1 c light corn syrup
  • 1/2 c margarine, melted
  • 1 c sliced pecans
  • 1/4 c unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 c white sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 325F degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • Step #2 In a heavy saucepan mix melted margarine, corn syrup, white sugar & cocoa.
  • Step #3 Cook over low heat/flame, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves.
  • Step #4 Add vanilla, salt & eggs, stirring well.
  • Step #5 Stir in 1/2 c pecans.
  • Step #6 Mix well.
  • Step #7 Pour filling into unbaked pastry shell & top this with remaining 1/2 c pecans.
  • Step #8 Bake at 325F degrees F(165 degrees C) for 55 mins.
  • Step #9 Let cool & serve.
