Meringue Trifle Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c Sugar
  • 1 ts Vinegar
  • 1 ts Vanilla
  • 3 ea Egg whites
  • 1 ts Water
  • 1 ea Fresh sliced strawberries
  • 1/2 ts Baking powder
  • 1/8 ts Salt

Directions
  • Step #1 Sift the sugar with the baking powder & salt.
  • Step #2 mix the liquids.
  • Step #3 Add the sugar, alternating with a few drops of the liquid, 1/2 t at time, to the egg whites, beating constantly.
  • Step #4 When all mixd, continue to beat for several mins.
  • Step #5 Place large spoonfuls on baking sheet & shape into shallow c.
  • Step #6 bake this at 225F for 45 min.
  • Step #7 to 1 hr.
  • Step #8 Remove the meringues form the sheet quickly & cool them on rack.
  • Step #9 Fill with strawberries.
  • Step #10 Cal: 122, Fat: trace.
