Beefsteak & Kidney Pie Recipe

Step #1 Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
Step #2 Prepare the rice with the water in standard manner.
Step #3 (I do not use salt or margarine in the preparation of the rice.
Step #4 ) While the rice is cooking chop the onions & garlic.
Step #5 Saute slowly until onions are just tender.
Step #6 Add the ground beef and brown.
Step #7 Cook onions & ground beef about 7 mins.
Step #8 Drain off the fat.
Step #9 Return to medium heat.
Step #10 Separately mix the broccoli cheese soup & milk.
Step #11 Stir until creamy in texture.
Step #12 At this point test for taste.
Step #13 I usually add table grind black pepper & salt (less that 1/2 tsp).
Step #14 When the ground beef is ready, add the rice & broccoli, & soup mixture, tossing carefully.
Step #15 Put the mixture in to a 9 x 9, or 9 x 13 casserole dish.
Step #16 Sometimes I top this with Spice uped bread crumbs & Parmesan cheese.
Step #17 Bake about 35 mins.
