Beet Nut Gelatin Salad Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c Sugar
  • 1/2 ts Cinnamon
  • 2 ts Vanilla
  • 3 c Flour
  • 2 ts Baking powder
  • 2 c Shredded beets
  • 1 ts Baking soda
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/4 ts Ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 c Shortening
  • 1 c sliced nuts

Directions
  • Step #1 (From Kraft's Fresh Focus, February 1987.
  • Step #2 ) Beat shortening & sugar until light & fluffy.
  • Step #3 mix in eggs and vanilla.
  • Step #4 stir in the beets.
  • Step #5 Add mixd dry ingredients; mix well.
  • Step #6 Stir in nuts.
  • Step #7 pour this into greased & floured 9x5" loaf pan.
  • Step #8 bake this at 350'F.
  • Step #9 for 60-70 mins or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Step #10 Cool 10 mins; remove this from pan.
  • Step #11 Makes 1 loaf.
