Caramel Chocolate Chip Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 c Heavy cream
  • 1/2 c Flaked coconut
  • 2/3 c Flour plus
  • 12 1/4 oz Jar caramel topping
  • About 2 c
  • 1 Stick butter; softened-4oz
  • 2 ts Vanilla extract
  • 2 Eggs
  • Melted
  • 12 oz Semisweet chocolate chips --
  • 3 Squares unsweet. chocolate
  • 8 oz Walnut pieces
  • 1 c Sugar
  • 1/4 c Flour

Directions
  • Step #1 Coarsely chop walnuts.
  • Step #2 Measure out 1 c & set aside.
  • Step #3 Finely chop remaining walnuts.
  • Step #4 preheat your trusty oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Step #5 In a medium bowl, beat together 1 stick butter, & vanilla with an electric mixer on medium speed until light & fluffy, sugar, eggs, 2-3 mins.
  • Step #6 Beat in melted chocolate.
  • Step #7 Add 2/3 c flour & beat until well mixed.
  • Step #8 stir in the finely sliced nuts.
  • Step #9 Spread batter evenly in greased, foil-lined 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • Step #10 Bake 10 mins.
  • Step #11 In a small bowl, mix together caramel & remaining 1/4 c flour until mixed.
  • Step #12 Drizzle over partially baked brownies.
  • Step #13 Sprinkle top coarsely sliced nuts over top.
  • Step #14 Return to oven & bake 20 mins longer, or until bubbly.
  • Step #15 Meanwhile in a 1-qt.
  • Step #16 glass bowl, heat chocolate chips with cream and remaining 1 tbsp butter in a microwave oven on High 1-1/4 to 1-3/4 mins or until smooth when stirred.
  • Step #17 Set glaze aside.
  • Step #18 Let brownies cool 15 mins.
  • Step #19 Spread glaze over brownies.
  • Step #20 Sprinkle top coconut on top.
  • Step #21 put in the fridge 1 hr, until glaze is set.
  • Step #22 Carefully cut into 36 (1-1/2 x 2-1/8-inch) bars.
  • Step #23 Return to refrigerator until serving time.
