Ingredients
6 ea Medium onions
8 ea Slices bacon
1/2 c Soft bread crumbs
3/4 c Hot stock or water
4 ea Medium apples
Directions
Step #1 Peel & cut the onions in 1/8 inch slices.
Step #2 Peel, core, & cut the apples into similar slices.
Step #3 Saute bacon & remove this from the pan and mince.
Step #4 Take out two tbsps of the bacon fat & toss the bread crumbs in the remainder.
Step #5 Grease a baking dish.
Step #6 Arrange the onions, apples, & bacon in alternate layers.
Step #7 Pour over hot stock or water.
Step #8 Cover the top this with the bread crumbs.
Step #9 Cover the dish & bake it for 30 mins at 375 degrees.
Step #10 Uncover & bake it about 15 mins longer.
