Ingredients
8 oz Loaf French bread, in 1" sl
1/8 ts Ground cinnamon
Butter for greasing
4 lg Eggs; slightly beaten
1 c Half-and-half
1/8 ts Ground nutmeg
1 c Milk
1 ts Vanilla
Directions
Step #1 --TOPPING----- 1/2 c Unsalted butter; softened 1 c Lt brown sugar; packed 2 tb Maple syrup 1 c Coarsely sliced pecans 1.
Step #2 Heavily butter a 9-inch square baking dish.
Step #3 Fill dish with bread slices.
Step #4 2.
Step #5 In a medium bowl, milk, mix eggs, vanilla, half-and-half, cinnamon & nutmeg.
Step #6 Pour egg mixture over bread.
Step #7 Cover and put in the fridge overnight.

Step #9 To make the topping: The next day, in a small bowl mix butter, brown sugar & maple syrup with a fork.
Step #10 stir in the pecans.
Step #11 Spread topping evenly over bread.
Step #12 4.
Step #13 Bake, uncovered, in a preheated 350-degree oven until puffed and golden, about 40 mins.
Step #14 let this stand for 5 mins before serving.
