Dianes Clam And Corn Chowder

- 4 slices crisp bacon, crumbled shopping list
- 1 medium onion, chopped shopping list
- 1/4 c butter shopping list
- 2 cans (6-8 oz) chopped clams with liquor shopping list
- 2 fresh steamed corns on the cob kernals removed shopping list
- 3 c diced potatoes shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt or to taste shopping list
- 1/4 tsp fresh ground pepper shopping list
- 1 can cream of mushroom or celery soup shopping list
- 1 can chicken broth shopping list
- 2 c heavy cream shopping list
- 1/4 c flour (I use Wondra and I add more if needed for consistancy) shopping list
How to make it
- Saute chopped onion in butter.
- Add everything else except flour.
- In measuring cup, mix flour and a little warm water to dissolve.
- Add roux to mixture and bring to boil.
- Reduce heat, cover and simmer 30 minutes.
- (For thicker chowder add addtional flour)
