How to make it

  • Cook the noodles as per the directions on the box
  • while the noodles sit in the strainer (I don't like to wash more dishes than I have to) add the burger, mushrooms and stewed tomatoes just to warm (obviously, if you use regular burger you're going to have to cook it-vegetarian burger just needs to be heated)
  • when the mixture is warm and moist (from the mushrooms and tomatoes) add the 2 packets of powdered cheese. NOTHING ELSE do not add the milk and butter as per the box directions-trust me!
  • Mix it all up and add the noodles
  • 225 calories per 1 cup serving. Not awful if you want some mac and cheese and/or want the kids to eat their veggies.

    This is very different and I like it. I would probably use button mushrooms that I had gently sauteed with a chopped onion. I like the concept and I would certainly make it. Thanks for sharing and high 5.
