Creamed Potatoes Recipe
CREAMED POTATOES This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Laughlin Estate in Cedar Hill, Texas in 1994.

Ingredients
  • 4 pounds potatoes
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 6 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 3 cups milk

Directions
  1. Peel and boil potatoes 30 minutes.
  2. In large saucepan melt butter then add flour, salt and pepper and stir until bubbly.
  3. Remove from heat then gradually stir in milk and return to medium heat.
  4. Bring to boil stirring constantly then boil and stir 1 minute.
  5. Cut up potatoes into 1” pieces and put into casserole.
  6. Pour sauce over potatoes and mix then cover and bake 25 minutes at 350.
