How to make it

  • Chop onion. Drain and rinse beans.
  • Combine all ingredients and add water to cover.
  • Bring to a boil, mixing well.
  • Simmer 10 minutes.
  • Refrigerate overnight or longer. (The longer it sits in the fridge, the more the flavors blend.)
  • Warm and serve.
  • I plan to try next time with frozen green beans that I cook ahead of time, and maybe I'll add some pine nuts when serving.
