How to make it

  • Slice the Angel food cake horizontally to make three even height layers and place the bottom layer on the plate or cake stand you will be serving it from. Place the other two layers aside.
  • Cut the tops of the strawberries off, and thinly slice them vertically (from stem area to tip). Set aside.
  • Slather the bottom layer of Angel food cake with enough whipped topping to cover the top only, about 1/2 inch thick.
  • Completely cover all this whipped topping with blueberries.
  • Take the next layer and spread about 1/4 inch thick whipped topping on the bottom of that layer & carefully place it on top of the blueberry-covered bottom layer.
  • Spread the whipped topping about 1/2 inch thick on top of this layer.
  • Cover this layer of whipped topping with the strawberry slices.
  • Take the top layer & coat the bottom of it with about 1/4 inch of whipped topping and place it carefully on top of the strawberry covered layer.
  • Spread the remaining whipped topping on the top of the cake.
  • Alternate the sliced strawberries with the blueberries to create red and blue stripes on top of the cake.
  • Chill for at least 1 hour before serving and use a serrated bread knife to cut the cake into slices. ENJOY!
