Ingredients

How to make it

  • Mix ingredients together.
  • Form patties. If you have time, chill for ~an hour or so. If you like rare meat, make thick patties.
  • Heat a large frying pan and add oil for browning the patties.
  • Brown the patties on each side on medium high heat. ~ 3-5 min/ side.
  • ----
  • If you like your meat more thoroughly cooked, give them longer per side, or once browned, move to a baking dish and place in a 350 F oven for 10-15 minutes - or for however long you're supposed to cook hamburgers/ patties.
  • ---
  • I prepare this dish for Shabbat, so I undercook the patties, knowing that they are going to sit on top of a hot plate for an hour or so. This Friday, I cooked up some onions, zucchini, and fresh mushrooms in the skillet after browning the patties and used that as a bed to keep the patties from drying out on the hot plate. I served the patties with potato kugel. They were quite rare, but everyone liked them that way!
  • You could make this with any kind of ground meat...
  • If you have a more definite suggestion for cooking times, please post!
