How to make it

  • Meat:
  • Saute onions and garlic, add water to fill pot and cover other ingredients, boil until almost dry; remove from heat. Shred meat and put back in pot.
  • Sauce:
  • Boil separately from the meat until syrupy and mixed. Add sauce to shredded meat and heat on low for a couple of minutes while stirring to mix flavors.
  • Sauce can be reserved on the side to be added as desired, but doesn't mix as thoroughly. I like to toss a couple big spoonfuls on a toasted bun and eat with some green beans and/or garlic mashed potatoes.
